A little introduction

I was born in London, spent my childhood in the countryside in Oxfordshire before moving back to London to attend university. I feel like I truly found my tribe of friends in London, I found my style and my outlook on life, and solidified the morals and values I wanted to live by. My earlier years spent in the country of course impacted hugely on my love for nature, woods, fields, rivers, all the wildlife in the UK. We are all made up of our experiences in life, and honestly I think I had the best of both worlds, the city and the country life.

For now, I've stuck to the city, I relocated to Madrid in 2018, and have grown my view of the world in a different way now.

I live stream myself painting under the username snazzbee on Twitch, and as well as growing the most wonderful community of people all over the world, it has helped hold me accountable to keep going, to finish paintings, and to push through when I otherwise might have abandoned work. It has been one of the main catalysts to growing my art these past four years.

My paintings are all about colour and light. I love when you can see brushstrokes in paint, you can see the marks made by the artist and see how the brush has been manipulated. Joaquin Sorolla, Lucian Freud, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, these are some of the artists that have influenced and inspired the way I work and the colours I use.
